However, the company makes its greatest contribution to the development of a society with less strain on the environment by deploying IT solutions in its customers’ businesses.

Now that climate change is a clear and present threat, green IT is high on Tieto's agenda. It is increasingly important both in service development and in own business operations. Member of the sustainable development indices and UN Global Compact
Tieto is a member of the sustainable development indices of two research bodies: the Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) and Kempen SNS Smaller Europe SRI Index.

Tieto complies with the principles of UN Global Compact. In 2009, the company initiated its official participation in the Global Compact and became a member early 2010.
